Welcome to our English4All Conversation Club! 🌍✨
Hello everyone! 👋
Every Friday, we meet with students from all around the world to practice real English together. Today’s topic is fun and mysterious: “Are you superstitious?”
🧠 What does superstitious mean?
The word superstitious describes someone who believes in luck, magic, or signs that are not based on science.
➡️ If you are superstitious, you might believe that:
- A black cat crossing your path brings bad luck 🐈⬛
- Breaking a mirror gives you 7 years of bad luck 🪞
- Finding a four-leaf clover brings good luck 🍀
- Friday the 13th is a dangerous day 😱
❓What does the question “Are you superstitious?” mean?
This is a yes or no question, but we want you to give more details!
🗣️ How can you answer?
Here are some examples you can use in the club:
YES, I AM SUPERSTITIOUS:
🗨️ “Yes, I’m superstitious. I never walk under ladders!”
🗨️ “Yes, I always knock on wood when I want to avoid bad luck.”
NO, I’M NOT SUPERSTITIOUS:
🗨️ “No, I’m not superstitious. I don’t believe in that.”
🗨️ “No, but I think superstitions are interesting!”
💬 More questions you can ask your partners:
- Do you know any superstitions from your country? 🌎
- Have you ever had a bad experience on Friday the 13th?
- Do you believe in lucky numbers or charms? 🔢🔮
🎯 Remember: The goal is to speak freely and have fun while learning. Don’t worry about making mistakes — that’s how we grow! 🌱💪
See you in the club!
