🧠 Are you introverted or extroverted? 🗣️

Hello, dear students of English4All! 👋😊

Today we are going to talk about this question: “Are you introverted or extroverted?”

Remember, our English4All Conversational Club meets every Friday at 8:00 AM and 7:00 PM. 🗓️⏰ It is a space where students from different groups come together to practice English, speak, listen, share ideas, and learn from each other. Don’t worry about making mistakes — mistakes are part of learning! 🌟

The question “Are you introverted or extroverted?” means:

What kind of personality do you have?

An introverted person usually feels more comfortable in quiet places, with small groups, or spending time alone. An introverted person may enjoy reading, thinking, listening, or having deep conversations. 📚☕😌

For example:

  • I am introverted because I like quiet places.
  • I feel comfortable with small groups.
  • I enjoy spending time alone.
  • I prefer listening before speaking.

An extroverted person usually feels more comfortable with many people, social activities, and conversations. An extroverted person may enjoy parties, meeting new people, speaking in groups, and being active with others. 🎉🗣️😄

For example:

  • I am extroverted because I like meeting new people.
  • I enjoy talking with others.
  • I feel happy in big groups.
  • I like social events and activities.

Some people are not completely introverted or completely extroverted. They are a mix of both. This is sometimes called ambivert. ⚖️🙂

For example:

  • I think I am both. Sometimes I like being alone, but sometimes I enjoy being with people.
  • I am an ambivert. It depends on the situation.
  • With my friends, I am extroverted. With new people, I am introverted.

When someone asks you:

“Are you introverted or extroverted?”

They want to know if you prefer quiet moments or social moments.

You can answer:

  • I am introverted.
  • I am extroverted.
  • I am both.
  • I think I am an ambivert.
  • It depends on the situation.
  • I am a little introverted, but I like talking with friends.
  • I am very extroverted because I love meeting people.

You can also explain your answer using because:

  • I am introverted because I enjoy being alone.
  • I am extroverted because I like talking to new people.
  • I am both because sometimes I like silence, and sometimes I like social activities.
  • I am introverted because big groups make me tired.
  • I am extroverted because social situations give me energy.

Important expressions you can use in the conversation:

  • I feel comfortable when…
  • I enjoy…
  • I prefer…
  • I don’t like… very much.
  • I feel nervous when…
  • I feel happy when…
  • It depends on…
  • In my opinion…
  • Most of the time…
  • Sometimes…

Examples:

  • I feel comfortable when I talk with close friends.
  • I enjoy meeting new people.
  • I prefer small groups.
  • I don’t like big parties very much.
  • I feel nervous when I speak in front of many people.
  • I feel happy when I share ideas with others.
  • It depends on the people and the place.
  • Most of the time, I am quiet.
  • Sometimes I am very talkative.

Here are some possible questions you can ask your classmates in the Conversational Club:

  • Are you introverted or extroverted?
  • Do you like meeting new people?
  • Do you prefer small groups or big groups?
  • Do you enjoy speaking in public?
  • Do you like parties?
  • Do you feel comfortable talking to strangers?
  • What activities do you enjoy?
  • Do you prefer staying at home or going out?
  • Are you quiet or talkative?
  • Do you feel tired after social events?

Possible answers:

  • I am introverted. I prefer small groups and quiet places.
  • I am extroverted. I love meeting new people and talking a lot.
  • I think I am an ambivert. Sometimes I like going out, but sometimes I prefer staying home.
  • I don’t like big parties very much, but I enjoy spending time with my friends.
  • I feel comfortable talking to people I know.
  • I feel a little nervous when I meet new people, but I try to practice.
  • I enjoy social activities because they are fun.
  • I prefer staying at home because I like relaxing.
  • I am quiet at first, but later I talk more.
  • I feel happy when I have interesting conversations.

You can also make the conversation longer with follow-up questions:

  • Why do you think that?
  • Can you give me an example?
  • What about you?
  • Do you feel the same?
  • When do you feel more extroverted?
  • When do you feel more introverted?

Example conversation:

Student A: Are you introverted or extroverted? 😊
Student B: I think I am introverted.
Student A: Why do you think that?
Student B: Because I prefer quiet places and small groups. What about you?
Student A: I am extroverted. I like talking to people and making new friends.
Student B: That’s great! Do you like speaking in public?
Student A: Yes, I do. I feel comfortable speaking in front of people.

Another example:

Student A: Are you introverted or extroverted?
Student B: I think I am both.
Student A: Really? Why?
Student B: Because sometimes I enjoy being with people, but sometimes I need time alone.
Student A: I understand. I am similar. With my friends, I am extroverted, but with new people, I am quiet.

Remember, students: there is no “better” personality. Being introverted is good. Being extroverted is good. Being both is good too! 🌈✨ The important thing is to practice English, respect others, and enjoy the conversation.

So, this Friday at 8:00 AM or 7:00 PM, come ready to answer:
